Alfero, picturesque country of the the Apennines, and the greater fraction of  Verghereto Country, in the province of Forlì-Cesena. Located at 750 meters above sea level, has about 850 inhabitants, and is a favorite destination for summer tourism and winter. History

This beautiful valley was formed already in the Neolithic Era. It belonged to the Umbrian, the Etruscans, and forced passage of Roman legions, it was part of that empire in 266 B.C. .
