Capanne

Hut (or Booths) is a inhabited nucleus of Verghereto Country in the province of Forlì-Cesena in the Appennino Tosco-Romagnolo on the slopes of Monte Fumaiolo. IT IS 6 km away from Balze , and 10 km from Alfero. Situated at 898 m above sea level in the high valley of the Para River, a tributary of the Savio, and a cluster of houses near the parish church, with a resident population of 43 inhabitants[ 2] and a receptivity to ten times more, being second homes for the most part.

History

Its origins are closely linked to the Monastery of the Cell, founded by Saint Romualdo in 986. Around the year 1000, the possessions of the Monastery of the Cell, settled the first inhabited nucleus of huts consisting of woodcutters and segantini that working in water sawmill implanted by the monks to the processing of the pines and the hut that had for home and the toponym of Hut . With the increasing activity of the monastery, there was an expanding population, were built stone buildings around the Chapel (Chapel of San Rocco) built by the monks. The Prior of the Monastery was the head of the community which was to be subject to the Prior of Camaldoli even if the territory was included in the diocese of Sarsina. In lands adjacent battling Uguccione della Faggiola (1250-1319).In the year 1404 these territories conquered by Jacopo Salviati will pass to the Florentine Republic and will consist the Podesteria of Verghereto, current municipality .With the decadence of the monastery the parish of St. John will be transferred in 1822 to Cuts at the existing Oratory of San Rocco and in 1833 Don Luigi Bigi will build the first parish church, which was the entrance to south-east of the old road of Velle, and campanile staying two campane. Nel 1919 don Francesco Santolini will make changes to the church and the entry rotate 90° to the north-east of piazza San Giovanni as it currently stands . Patron Saint of the parish and St. John the Baptist and patron and San Rocco. They are part of the parish territory of huts, in addition to the village of Velle: still in the east Field of Riccio; to the south altars, Sant'Alberico; to the west cell, factory and Monticino; north Osseto and Agony.
