Montecoronaro

Montecoronaro is located on one of the steps of the Apennines and m.865 above sea level from which a time dominated and protected one of the main routes of communication between the north and the south of Italy, now easily reachable with the road E45. Numerous festivals enliven the Summer offering the possibility to enjoy the tasty local cuisine (polenta, tortelli etc. ), between these should be mentioned: the festival of the wild boar (3^ Sunday of July), the Feast of "mid-summer" (1ST sunday of August).Don't forget to pay a visit to the "sources" of the river Savio in the vicinity of the country on the monte Castelvecchio at 1126 m above sea level and is accessible through a marked path.

History

The country takes its name from the characteristic conformity of the mountains which around make up the crown.
